I have been in Fontgombault, when Ratzinger was arriving and the last sunday,
when H.Em. celebrated a "tridentine" pontifical mass.
There was used Novus Ordo lectures (Evangile of Martha and Maria = Year C /
16 and not the Evangile of the tree and the good fruits), universal prayers,
sung secreta et per ipsum, lectio versus populum, communion was given by
Ratzinger with "Corpus christi" without "Corpus Domini nostri Jesu.....".
Sureley, not 62 missel. It is strange, because some weaks ago Cardinal Hoyos
ordained a priest of the St. Vinzenz Ferrer Fraternity in Fontgombault Abbay
in the complete 62 rite (also investing the Cardinal at the throne).
The conferences were very discrete. Nobody has known that Ratzinger arrived.
I think, he didn´t want it because the french bishops are very upset against
the old rite, specially now in the negotiations with the SSPX.
The scope is to stimulate a "new liturgical movement". Two conferences were
given about it, one from Chanoine Rosé and one of Dom Charbel OSB (Barroux).
There was also a strong group from the "communio" direction. So has Prof.
Caldekott given a conference "vers une nouvelle synthese". He is the british
editor of the review "communio". He has initiated with Aidan Nichols OP, the
famous "Balthasarian", the "Oxford declaration of liturgy".

There were also the bishop of Namur, who is not very involved in the old rite
movement, F. Urrutigoity from the SSI, F. Devillers General of the FSSP, F.
Sven Conrad FSSP, who recently concelebrated with the Pope in the Novus Ordo.
Also was given a conference from F. Folsom OSB (Norcia-Abbay) about "Roman
Rite or Roman RITES", F. Daniel Field OSB (Randol) and Prof. Spaemann, who
has spoken against the "petrification of the 62 missal".

Msgr. Perl was there. He came with Cardinal Ratzinger.

The ceremonies were wonderfull chanted by the monks. The sermon of the
Cardinal was a "real Ratzinger". He has given a very theological homilie
about the gospel of Marta et Maria. He said, that we must rediscover the
contemplative dimension of the liturgie.

I aks me only, why are only invited nobody from the UNA VOCE, why nobody from
Gricigliano, from the FSVF or other groups. Why this mix beetween
"Communio"-Freaks (sorry) and Old Mass Priests. Has the "reform of the
reform" supporters no other friends and helpers in the church. Why was is so
"discret" or secret.

Nobody I know from the FSSP or ICK etc. has know about it.

Can somebody answer me this questions.

[I still does seem odd that the Soc. of St. John (a relatively small order) was invited (knowing their open support for the 1965 modifications), but the
Institute of Christ the King was not. Also odd that CIEL (supporting Protocol 1411) a new and small lay association was invited, but Una Voce, the oldest
and largest lay association in support of the traditional Mass was not.
Again, an oddly consistent group of "leaders".
Meetings like this do have consequences (if not then it doesn't say much for
those who attended), but we can hope and pray that the consequences will be
of little significance.
It's true that no policies or official documents were generated as a result of this conference.
