"Priest is a demon driver"
A PRIEST clocked doing 120mph in a BMW told a court that the devil had got under the bonnet. Father Philippe Laguerie said: "Suddenly the car gathered speed. It was uncontrollable. The devil had certainly crept inside the engine." The court, in Saintes, south-west France, heard he was hurrying to give a talk to young people on the dangers of sex, alcohol and drugs. "Perhaps the devil disapproved of my lecture," he said. Father Laguerie had previously lost his licence for speeding and other offences. Fining him £250, Judge Pierre Fateau said he deserved to lose it again, "but in view of the special circumstances you are banned from driving only on Sunday."
