DUTCH ABORTION TO SAIL TO SECOND IRISH CITY

DUBLIN, Jun 19, 01 (CWNews.com) - A Dutch ship operated a
pro-abortion group will sail from Dublin to Cork this week
as part of its efforts to undermine Ireland's strong
pro-life laws.

The Women on Waves Foundation had sailed the ship to
Ireland with the plan to carry pregnant mothers to
international waters and administer surgical abortions.
However, Dutch authorities had warned that such activity
would be illegal because they did not have the necessary
certification, so the group has instead handed out abortion
advice and chemical abortion drugs, including the
abortifacient "morning-after" pill.

"We think this visit has been a great success. In raising
the issue we are breaking the silence of women," said
Brendan Young of the Irish chapter of Women on Waves. "We
couldn't provide for the needs of Irish women, but this has
highlighted the urgency of the need for change."

Organizers said the Aurora, which they have dubbed "Sea
Change," will leave Dublin for Cork on Thursday, arriving
on Friday, and will offer similar services until it leaves
Ireland on Monday. Despite apocalyptic warnings and
precautions by the pro-abortion group against "violent"
pro-life protests, no such confrontations have arisen.
